Hello All,
Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.
Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).
Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

Re: Carona virus/Wuhan China/Pandemic
Camostat mesilate, maybe. It's an inhibitor of the type of protease that's required to activate the spike protein. It's effective in in vitro to prevent viral cell entry (for SARS-CoV-2 and MERS), the big question is if a non-toxic dosage of it is sufficient to reproduce that effect in humans. It's ...

Re: Carona virus/Wuhan China/Pandemic
The more I think about it, the more I realize that for a newly discovered disease with epidemic or pandemic potential that's discovered at a time when it's still mostly geographically localized and for which there is no uncontrollable (non-human) infection vector, "mitigation" is never an ...

Re: Carona virus/Wuhan China/Pandemic
I keep reading and hearing the myth that "coronavirus is only spread by droplets that quickly fall to the ground, you have to touch things, it doesn't stay an the air and you can't just get it from breathing where someone coughed before", but then there is an actual paper on the topic: htt...

Here is an updated spreadsheet with the latest data: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/558999688670609448/688608382139367449/unknown.png The most reliable out of all this is probably South Korea, because they haven't been waiting for people to come to them to do tests. They've thrown privacy ou...

Re: Carona virus/Wuhan China/Pandemic
I'm willing to bet that when this is all over, and the survives look back with hindsight, they will find that not just the cost in lives, but also the total economic cost would have only been a tiny fraction, if, when Wuhan was placed under lockdown on the 23rd of January, the whole world would have...
