Comparing Tales of Demons & Gods with Twice-Dead God, there are obviously differences in that it's eastern "other world" fantasy, and not western urban fantasy.
On the other hand, you got a teenage main character with a very high level of competence, conflicts that escalate towards "this can destroy the world as we know it" level, and a steep power curve, all quite similar to the twice-dead god books.
Also, 91% into what has been published so far (both the Chinese original as well as the translation are still ongoing), the main character gains access to what is essentially a private realm, the entrance to which is essentially a real world object that he internalizes put into his soul realm.
So I think it's fair to draw certain parallels between TDG (Tales of Demons & Gods) and TDG (Twice-Dead God).
