Hello All,

Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.

Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).

Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

Thanks Argy! I hope you've fully recovered from your lack of YA book accident. :)

Scotch Fans we've all read about how Dale intends to branch out into some other genres. What does this have to do with scotch you ask? Well it doesn't really have anything to do with scotch. But if you start a topic about something that interests you and jump on the soap box from time to time I'm sure no one will mind either (And if they do well they can just pass on your topic) I've said this before but it bears repeating. I started this topic to have fun and be a bit silly. I have a very dry sense of humor and based on some of your emails people don't always get it. If I've offended you or yours I apologize. Oh and yes I know I don't always use correct grammar etc but you know what..I'm not the writer here..Dale is. I mostly just type along like I'm talking and it turns out like it turns out. Now back to the topic at hand.

Dale intends to write some books under different names and genres. To be honest I mostly read sci fi/fantasy. I have since I was a boy and it never seemed to change as I grew older. Most of you having read the scotch forum know that I'm a middle aged guy. But the way I think hasn't changed that much from my mid 20s to mid 40s (My mother says I need to grow up) I have read other kinds of books but I would say it was maybe 10% of my reading. I enjoy these kinds of books because it's an escape from the 9 to 5 real world grind. I already have plenty of real world drama going on. My experience with growing older has been less about maturity and more about my back hurts and I can't run as fast. Sorry have to stop for a second that last thought brought another to mind that made me laugh. For those of you that have seen the movie "Dazed and Confused" I was thinking of the scene where the character played by Matthew Mcconaughey says "That's what I like about high school girls...I keep getting older and they stay the same age." I know.. total PED line.. but if you see it in the context of the movie it's funny. Oh and if your going to yell at me for laughing at it.. yell at Dale as well. He had 20 something year old Trice marry 11 year old children of the corn Timon (My wife will never forgive Dale for that as I had what she calls an episode) Not so much because Timon was so young but because as most of you know I don't like him. I had big plans for Trice in my story..hmm Dale's story.. and this twist interfered with those plans. Again you've forced me away from our topic!

I'll support whatever Dale decides to do because he's already given me so many books that I enjoy. But I can't help but thinking that Dale is a bit like a juggler that already has a lot of balls in the air. I wonder if trying to keep all those balls up is part of whats wearing on him. I think that maybe He should focus on a couple of the balls and do his fancy tricks with them instead of adding more. Pull up 10 random authors on amazon and see how many different series they have going at one time. Very few if any are going to have as many as Dale. My respectful opinion is that it's becoming too much.

The old saying is "Dance with the one that brung you."

Anyway rattled on enough and Marcia is wagging her get off the soap box finger so I'll wish you all a good day and see you later.

And.... We can tie that into the topic by saying that in order for him to relax a bit, he should drink some fine scotch!

Just wondering, if I'm thinking I'm suffering from SAD (a real medical condition, Seasonal Affective Disorder) maybe Dale, up there in the great northwest, has a serious case of SAD, too. Maybe we should encourage him to take that vacation, maybe say, to Hawaii, or the Caribbean;someplace sunny and send along some good scotch, have him come back all rested and refreshed, tanned and smiling. Maybe all ready to go for awhile...Just sayin'...

I think you're correct Ron. Dale does need a vacation. He needs to rest a bit and look at pretty girls on a beach somewhere. When he feels better he can come back feeling all fresh and full of ideas. The man has to be working about 12 hours a day to turn out books the way he does and that would wear anybody down. In the meantime I'll jot down a few ideas about how to proceed with Trice/Tor and ........Timon......to ease your way Dale ;) I'll just go ahead and send those off to you in the morning..Look under the file labeled "These are for Dale not you Estrid!"

PS. Dale I know Estrid looks after you and hooks up your IV while your writing so you can "eat" without disturbing your work. But perhaps you should take this vacation without her. Pretty girls like writers and a 6 foot blonde would be amazon warrior looking former Swedish volleyball player could get in the way of you having a good time....just saying. It would be best just to inform her that she is on detached duty assigned to me until your vacation is over..I'll see that she's..well taken care of until you return :D I know I know but what are friends for..I'm more then happy to do this small thing for you Dale.

Hey all! Just a quick note today. I'm Not responding to anymore critics etc who email me. Grow a set and post it right on the board and I'll be happy to address your concern or apologize as needed. I'm pretty sure I've attended as much or more sensitivity training as you have...maybe it just didn't stick. You amazon poachers should sign up and post anyway..I'm sure the others will make you feel very welcome ;) The answer is no I was not abused as a child...I did have this girlfriend in college who was kinda into role playing and....Well we'll save that for another time.

Hahaha Nah we're good Ron. The truth is it's mostly one of my friends from work who thought he was being sneaky using his wife's email. (Jason I know your wife's name and it's at the front of her email address ya dork) Hmm maybe I should send some emails to her saying how much I admire her fiery attitude and ask for pics ;). Jason it's time to come out of hiding and start posting. I need your help putting pressure on Dale anyway. As you know he's thinking about writing some books on architecture or something and this thing needs to be nipped in the bud asap. Eureka! Jason you could start the cigar forum and we could coordinate our posts to influence Dale...although I'm not sure he even reads the scotch forum :( Anyway Ron it's good to know your "cousins" in trench coats have our back. :D

Well Twips, I don't want to infer any stereo-typing, so we have to keep these guys in the loop so they don't go assuming the worst. If they go off half cocked, bad things can happen, know what I mean? Any way I really don't want to pressure Dale, but it occurred to me that the largest number of posts on the old web site was "what to read while...". I'm kind of thinking if he wrote more, those posts wouldn't be so high. Kind of like lost revenue or something. Just saying...

I got ya Ron and I'm in full agreement. But I just think that Dale is already doing what he does best. If anything instead of adding more he should be wrapping things up so he can begin his masterwork. His "Wheel of Time" or "Sword of Truth". He's got it in him...I think he's just tired and a little frustrated. I envision Him writing on just his masterwork and releasing a book like every few months or something. Of course everything else has to be done first so...

Oh and did you see that Marcia shut me down again on the New YA book topic when I asked for a poll? Here's how it goes. Marcia can I..NO. Marcia how about..NO. Marcia what if...NO. I haven't been told NO so many times since I went with Cindy Frisch to the Jr Prom. But If you ask for something Ron it's..Of course you can Ron. Or John asks it's..Go right ahead John. Big Jim asks if he can do something and it's ...No problem Big Jim. You all could post a 70's porn video on here and not get so much as a "You boys behave." I'd get beaten..and she already knows I fear nurses like some people fear clowns. Don't think for a minute that she doesn't play on that fear either. Never once I have I met with her to discuss forum business when she wasn't wearing some kind of hospital garb to try and frighten me. And don't get me started on her husband. He just sits there looking at me with narrowed eyes like I'm up to no good. Of course the fact that I requested pictures of her in her volleyball outfit didn't help...But jeez live and let live right.

Well I'm gonna put a stop to it. I am MAN..Hear me Roar......Only kinda like modern man in cargo shorts and flip flops. I also have an aversion to pain so...Let's just forget the whole thing and go on like we were.

Hey friends. If you've been following the scotch forum you know that I'm a little down about what's going on with Dale. So I did the smart and constructive thing to take my mind of my troubles. ;) I went on over to Specs liquor and spiritual revival center..It's a magical place where a man can spend time with friends like Talisker, Ledaig and Laphroaig. Just being among old friends seemed to lift my spirits and improve my sense of well being. All the golden colors standing shoulder to shoulder like a small army was a warming ray of sunlight on a cloudy day. I felt a bit Like Charlie when he found the golden ticket. And then when it was time to go a couple of my old friends decided to come with me. The whole way home the song in my head was "What a wonderful world."
