What do we know so far? Wuhan Novel Corona virus stats.
The Official stats, as of today.
From the CCP. (Chinese government numbers)
82 dead.
2700 plus infected.
Hong Kong University estimates that the real numbers have over 44,000 infected in Wuhan alone.
Doctors and nurses on the ground have reported much higher numbers, with upwards of 100,000 infected and MANY of them set to die form the disease.
Lancet Medical Journal has released an article showing that the death rate is around 15% and that the transmission rate is at 83%.
*In short, we have a good reason to think that the Chinese government is lying about the numbers. A lot.
Factors involved here: (Outside of simply saving face, which is a powerful thing in that part of the world.)
1. The country of China has run out of corona virus tests, about a week ago.
2. They don't have the man power to run the tests they already have.
3. They send people home, as a rule and do not keep death stats in general, like we do. The hospitals have no beds left, so have turn away hundreds or thousands of people who would have rated a stay, otherwise.
4. Early on, doctors who tried to sound the alarm were arrested and sent to work camps. That was inside this MONTH, so it isn't a small thing. The men and women coming out and speaking right now are facing ten years to life in prison for speaking out to the world. There hare dozens or possibly hundreds of them. Most are speaking Chinese, so we aren't hearing a lot about it.
** One source has spoke of watching what had to be at least one hundred people, men women, old and young collapsing in the street outside of her window, yesterday. She's on lock down, but desperate people have left their homes in seek of aid. At least some of them were being picked up by the morgue vehicles.
***People from China are bragging on the internet about faking their way through the quarantine zone, escaping it and there is video of sick people (in many ways) doing things like licking and coughing on things others will touch, on purpose, in order to infect them.
There are five official cases in the U.S and around a hundred to a hundred and fifty suspected cases. That last number is being published, but very quietly.
