Hello All,

Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.

Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).

Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

Well, the first draft. I'll start on the first big edit tomorrow. So in a few days...

It's the story of an Infected Serial murderer. One that can read anyone like a book.

Just wondering, ... since Brian goes from place to place, being forced to fight, usually forced to kill someone even though they are evil, couldn't he be considered a " serial killer" as well? I mean, by strict definition?

A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people,[1][2] usually due to abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant break (a "cooling off period") between them.[3][4] Some sources, such as the FBI, disregard the "three or more" criterion and define serial killing as "a series of two or more murders, committed as separate events, usually, but not always, by one offender acting alone".[4][5]

Although psychological gratification is the usual motive for serial killing, and most serial killings involve sexual contact with the victim,[6] the FBI states that the motives of serial killers can include anger, thrill, financial gain, and attention seeking.[5] The murders may be attempted or completed in a similar fashion and the victims may have something in common: race, appearance, sex, or age group, for example.[7]

Serial killing is not the same as mass murdering, nor is it spree killing, in which murders are committed in two or more locations in a short time. However, cases of extended bouts of sequential killings over periods of weeks or months with no apparent "cooling off period" or "return to normalcy" have caused some experts to suggest a hybrid category of "spree-serial killer".[8]

By this deffinition he woulnt fit as he isnt doing it for gratification and has no cooling of period.

Okay, guys, I get it. But wasn't it something Brian wondered about himself? As far as psycho/socio-path goes, if he were to go into analysis, I'm not sure he wouldn't end up in a rubber room. I mean just to play devil's advocate, anyway. Just sayin'...

If it wasnt for the fact he can prove the killings are for a better future I would agree that a strong case could be made.

I don't think he's be relegated to a rubber room if analyzed. The worst that could be said for the character is he became desensitized to the situation. If you think about, he would have 3 choices:
1) Enjoy the idea that he's killing predators and protecting the innocent.
2) Become introspective after every event.
3) Put the events out of his mind. Treat them as an average day at the office.

Option 1 could lead to a psychosis. Think The Punisher -- he's definitely a psychopath.
Option 2 could lead a nervous breakdown or hesitation that could lead to his own death.
Option 3 would allow him to accomplish the task at hand without compromising his morality.
