Hello All,

Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.

Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).

Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

I have yet to read good intentions. Just because I was completely burned out of sex in books after hoping for book after book. Hamilton would actually go back to her roots with story and plot. It never happened. I tried to read her latest anita blake novel. But when I decided to skip 1. The sex scenes. 2. The whining Anita does about have multiple lovers. 3. The whining Anita does about wanting more lovers. I discovered the three hundred some odd page book actually turned into about fifteen/twenty total.

The only problem there, is sometimes the author will throw in some juicy plot point in the middle of that whine, and you might miss it on the first read through.

Is it really a plot point anymore though? Yes, we all get Anita can bond people with sex, addict them, ubercharge Jean-Claude with it, raise uber power herself. Kind of hard to find a new plot point when its the same old. "Oh I banged this guy, I'm bringing him home with me. But I hate that he wants me. Oh no. I have to bang him and this guy at the same time to win!"

Sadly her writing went south hardcore when three things happened. Her divorce, her decision to start preaching off book about her poly relationship status (which has degraded into the writing becoming preachy about it), and the no change/edit or whatever you want to call it, clause that she managed to get.

I have no problems with a poly relationship, a mono relationship, marriage, friends with benefits, or one night stand revolving bedroom doors, but when an author turns their book into a preach about it and it has no bearing at all to the story itself... it's out of place and completely detracts from the story.

That said. Anyone read the Reborn rpglit stuff? I keep seeing it pop on my recommendations, but I just can't justify three bucks for 90 pages when I pay that for full books.

Hmm, good intentions is an erotic fantasy type novel.

The three main characters are a young man, a succubus and an angel.

I follow your point, gratuitious sex where I don't expect it can be annoying, but this novel... Expecting it is a different story... Isn't it? I mean, it's not only plot, but character building... LOL

You get the point though? It would be like ordering spaghetti and being mad it came with pasta.

Oh yeah. I know exactly why it is the way it is. Hell. I read the Succubus blues books by Meade I tgink her name is. Was just saying I never got around to reading Good Intentions because of being burned out on sex in a book. Lol

Richelle Mead? Yeah, read those too. I get it, just making the distinction.

Her dark swan series was pretty good too I thought, though again, sex in there.

Ironically I didn't like her entries in YA which has very little implicit sex and stopped reading her a while ago. Probably all the teen angst and stupidity.

If we're doing urban fantasy...
New book by D.L. Harrison http://www.amazon.com/Witchs-Moon-Celia ... B0194CCPBG

This above book doesn't get bogged down by sex at all, its referenced of course, but no explicit content, not even off page sex in this first installment.

And another series I like, new discord Jones book: http://www.amazon.com/Little-Street-Mag ... B018DSAY6K

a few more recent books I've read and enjoyed the last week or two...

Marc Secchia Dragon thief, though I suggest reading his dragon books in publishing order it isn't really necessary. But if you don't, you'll miss out.

New cloak games from Jonathan Moeller.

Four centuries, new book by Glenn Bullion in his damned and cursed series. New one has Victoria in the drivers seat, after being a secondary character for the first six books it was a good read.

Four Centuries (Damned and Cursed Book 7) by Glenn Bullion.

And since you have to specifically search for it to find it:
http://www.amazon.com/Four-Centuries-Da ... +centuries

The Wicked Dead (The Tome of Bill Book 7) by Rick Gualtieri.
