Hello All,

Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.

Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).

Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

Tonight we'll be reviewing a mixed blend scotch called Robert Burns. This scotch was named after the famous Scottish poet from the 1700's.

This scotch has a nice light gold color to it. The nose is pleasant with some apple and maybe prune. The taste is smooth and I didn't really notice too much alcohol bite. The scotch has some pear in there but I can also taste some background lemon. All in all the taste is mild compared to most of the other scotches we have looked at. The finish of this scotch is also mild and makes me think custard.

This is not a bad scotch and is fairly cheap. I would like it better with more peat but it would still fill the role of a before dinner drink with guests.

Before we wrap up for tonight I've been asked to mention that Argy's lounge has some thrilling news. It seems that since we were able to meet with Ron's polish contacts and get the cask of duck blood...wait for it....Czarnina is now on the menu!!! That's right folks head on down to Argy's and get a big bowl of duck blood soup to fight off the cold weather. We look forward to seeing you there! :D

WHOA! So cool! So what scotch would you recommend with the sweet sour taste of the fowl ( NOT foul )meat infused noodle soup? Just to round out the description,it's sort of a dark brown color as the blood has a tendency to want to clot (the vinegar is supposed to prevent that but doesn't completely).

Ron I think the 12 yr old Highland Park (which we'll be reviewing next) would be a nice choice to go with the soup. Being a newcomer to czanina my opinion on the clotting is surely that of a novice but I do think it adds a nice texture...Kinda like Argy likes to do with his "quackers"

I know it sounds a little gross, but I really wish I could find a way you guys could try it. I really have no way to explain it, reference-wise. It kind of reminds me of egg drop soup but a little thinner. And you're right, the clotting does give it a slightly gritty texture, sort of like you get from a fruit smoothly. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I only brought it up (czarnina) because probably all cultures have a gross sounding food dish like haggis or what not, so I brought up czarnina. It was the only Polish one I could think of. There is a " mock" version made about the same, but using prunes as coloration and flavor, but it's not quite the same. Someone may be willing to try that.

I would like to try it Ron..If for no other reason then to say I did. :) You got me thinking tho Ron..Now that we have the Fast Acquisition Response Team or "Fart" in place we can acquire all kinds of nifty ingredients for specialty foods. The team did a fine job meeting with the Polish Mafia and getting the duck blood back safely. There's no telling what else we can do. If anyone else has a cultural dish or something unique they are craving let us know so we can get it on the menu at Argys. Fart will go anywhere, at anytime...Low to moderate danger is our business. He who dares wins..oh wait that's the British SAS. Neither snow nor rain..err US Postal Service. Ojal ya Marsho..dang it..Chechen Resistance. Somebody come up with a good motto for our prestigious FART squad!

How about "Silent and Deadly" for the Fart squad....
Fast as the wind?

Need Ron's input on this!

I can't do any better than silent and deadly for the F.A.R.T. squad. And I thought about it all day, too.

Try this as a tongue twister: One smart fellow, he felt smart; two smart fellows, and they both felt smart.

Very good "Silent But Deadly" it is. As you can see the weather has shaped up nicely here..kinda cloudy but still nice..around 70 degrees I think. All warmed up where you all are? :)
